Edo Gur (1994), is an up and coming trumpet player currently residing in New-York City. Edo has established himself as one of the most promising and talented young trumpet players of his generation. Since 2008, Edo has been a scholarship recipient from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. After his service in the Israeli Defence Forces Orchestra, Edo started performing and recording with some of the biggest and most influential names in the Israeli music scene, including Idan Raichel (The Idan Raichel Project), Ravid Kahalani (Yemen Blues), Avi Lebovich (The Israeli Jazz Orchestra), Eli Degibri and many more.
Edo also played with the Young Israeli Philharmonic as a soloist, he performed in The Red Sea Jazz Festival between the years 2009-2017, and played in countless music festivals around the world, including Melbourne Jazz Festival, Jazz Kaar, Staten Island Jazz Festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, Kaunas Jazz Festival and Tel- Aviv Jazz Festival.
In 2016 Edo moved to New York City to study at The New School University. In New York, Edo has performed with Jazz masters, as Billy Harper and Reggie Workman, and has played in famous venues including Lincoln Center, The Django, Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre, The 75 Club, Symphony Space, Bar Lunatico, Barbes, Minton’s Playhouse and 55 Bar.
