Student Recital by Diego Opperman

Diego Opperman is originally from Boston and has been in New York for
several years studying Jazz performance and psychology at the New School.
He has developed a distinctive sound and adventurous improvisational

This performance will feature Opperman (Trumpet, Cornet, Flugelhorn)
alongside Conner Duke, (bass) Zebediah Stern, (Drums) and Alfredo Colon
(Reeds). The project will consist of a reflection on historical revolutions in art,
politics, and thought by a piano-less quartet free to explore both written
music, most of which is original music and composed specifically for the
occasion, as well as collective improvisation horizontally and contrapuntally.
Central to the project is the larger question of the role of progressive artists
in society. “the most timely artists are those whose work deals with the
