John Zorn's Cobra Ensemble Directed By Brian Marsella | Fall '19 Ensemble & Recital Series

Monday, December 2, 2019 at 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm

School of Jazz Performance Space, Room I531, Arnhold Hall 55 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011

Performance is a central component of every student's education at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, and the Ensemble Showcases are where faculty-led student groups showcase their talent and creativity.

Commonly referred to as a game piece, COBRA, created by John Zorn, is at once a composition, a framework for performance and a set of rules that organize a group of musicians into a community of sound. This is the culminating performance of the COBRA course taught by Anthony Coleman. Presented by the School Jazz and Contemporary Music at the College of Performing Arts
