Global Studies at 10 Years

Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Starr Foundation Hall, Room UL102, University Center 63 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10003

This will be a moment to celebrate as a community of alumni, students, staff, and faculty who have been part of the Global Studies community since the program's inception in 2009.

A keynote lecture by Eve Darian-Smith (Chair of the Department of Global & International Studies at the University of California Irvine), and a panel of Global Studies community members, students and alumni will discuss how Global Studies offers a pedagogical pathway for promoting critical interdisciplinary perspectives, embracing plural epistemologies, and fostering a planetary imaginary essential for confronting today's global challenges that no state alone can solve. This will be followed by musical, dance, and visual performances by Global Studies students and alumni.
