CANCELLED: Computational Design in the Time of Millennials and AI

Thursday, March 26, 2020 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Auditorium (Room N101), Sheila C. Johnson Design Center 66 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10003

Arturo Tedeschi is a computational design specialist with more than ten years of experience in the avant-garde segment of architecture and industrial design. He coined the definition Algorithms-Aided Design (AAD) with his homonymous book published in 2014, inaugurating it as a discipline. He will discuss new possibilities afforded to designers through digital tools that enable to manage an unprecedented complexity and greater integration of diverse knowledge. At a time when the widening scope of demands on design increasingly exceed conventional limits of practice, more holistic design processes are required.
